I'll be creating a new thread shortly for June promotions!

So it seems like the best option is to keep rakeback while stockpiling VIP points..Then once you reach A gear switch to the VIP program and convert at the highest level.

This. I'm waiting on a definitive answer if this is allowed.

I dont think it'll work like that. You can probably only convert points that are earned after you switch. Otherwise it'd be like getting ~80% rakeback or something, right?

A couple of questions here for players with existing rakeback.

1. Will rakeback players be able to use their points for tournament entries or is there nothing they can do with their points?

2. Will rakeback players still accumulate points at the 6.5 for every $1 level or are we now going to get the 10 points for every $1?

Thats not including any bonuses you may be clearing though.

All in all, it seems like a fair deal.
Why exactly do you consider it a fair deal? Do you feel that the existing rakeback is too high?

So what happens if you accumulate more than $2700 worth of points per month? Or any level for that matter it seems like people are gonna have a ton of points left over after their max trade-in each month. What are they supposed to do with them?

No, but obviously Merge does.

Also, rakeback players are getting 35% regardless of what level theyre on, while VIP players have to put in a lot (?) of volume just to get to the 35% level, and then can get a little more for max volume.

Prices are determined by supply and demand. The market has changed since BF. Frankly, I'm glad we arent getting completely ****ed, because as an American I have no other choice but lol Cake Poker.

Max is actually "$6262.50 = 162750 pts max value". You can exchange at each level you qualify for up to 3 times in a month.

Last edited by Kidsinister; 05-31-2011 at 07:32 PM. Reason: Keep in mind that's a ridiculous amount of volume ($16,275 in rake generated)

You are allowed to exchange points for cash 3 times per calendar month at each tier you qualify for.

this is bs this vip sucks im sticking to my 35% rakeback

Reducing rakeback yield is anything but fair, considering the high rake on Merge.

Well, I was considering switching to RPM from Carbon but I won't with this VIP Program unless they lower rake. If Carbon's is similar I probably won't play there either. Consider it less demand.

All the other promotions that he just posted in the other thread are promising. Keeping the double-points days and stuff like that. I am guessing this goes for purchasing bonuses and also for lifetime point accrual but I'm not positive.

But with those other extras in there being maintained this looks a lot better than I was initially thinking.

I'm currently a player on Lock with rakeback there. But I could end up being interested in switching to RPM without rakeback (pending what Lock comes up with). Looks like you're in super-good shape if you happen to play a ton on Mondays and Fridays. Those are the double VIP points days. Can take your roughly 45%'ish if you are high-volume (anticipate getting to 300k points lifetime) up to 60% or higher. Way more than that if you REALLY load up on Monday and Friday. And that doesn't even include the other value of the other days.

Pretty impressed actually.

Can we get a confirmation that we can still use points for tournament buy ins at least?

(rb players)

Also the thursday bonus is sweet, play 2500 hands and get a $150 bonus to clear plus $10 into your account. That gives even a low volume rec. RB player like me a continual bonus to clear.

If I'm reading this right, you would be able to convert at the next lower rate. so if you max out with three $900 purchases at 20,000 points each and still had point left over for the month, you could purchase a $600 bonus for 15,000 points three times within that same month, and so on down the line.

It's like they are rewarding volume at an increasing rate, but only up to a certain point and then additional volume will experience somewhat diminishing returns. I think this is probably a good thing for game quality and to not incentivize mega-volume shortstackers and/or bots, though legitimate mega-volume players that are negatively impacted will obviously not like it.

Yes, you can use points for tournament entries as a rakeback player.

All in all seems pretty fair IMO.

How about Affiliate Rake Races? Are they against Merge Network rules also?
