Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

First I want to say, I have no complaints and what I have to suggest are just minor things and wouldn't really make a difference on how I look at RPM and what I think about RPM.

1. I think if we are able to have a friends list, we should be able to message our friends within the client, but possibly with restrictions. i.e. Players may not be able to chat if they are at the same table. Otherwise we should just have a "Search for player" feature imo.

2. After we verify our ID, Email etc I think the links should be removed from the player admin page to clean up the sidebar.

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

Is there any way to get the chips to show up in the Normal view?

This is the most tilting/confusing thing in the world. You can't see the names/stack sizes in the mini view, and following the action without the chips in the Normal view is ridiculous... who seriously thought omitting the chips from a poker table would ever be a good idea in the first place?

I also see there's a $60 WSOP satellite which awards a $460 ticket. lol, I guess the $11 feeds into the $60. so when's the $460, and how many seats does it award?
At the risk of having my post deleted for "bashing RPM", I think this is a very poorly done part of the overall bad Lobby interface. There is minimal information about "This is a satellite to..." and "Here are satellites to this tournament". As you mentioned, it is also impossible to tell what will be awarded.

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

I might be wrong but I doubt that RPM/Merge has gotten this kind of feedback prior to BF. Most of us that are "new" to this site are use to the best software in the industry. I get the impression that they welcome the feedback; as Seth said the developers look at this on a reg basis.
I suggest we continue to help them grow; I also suggest we do it without bashing them it just takes some credibility away from the post.
Think about how you like to be talked to before posting a suggestion.

+1 on this. i have every reason to believe that rpm is actively listening to and evaluating suggestions, with the intent of making improvements.

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

plenty of good suggestions on this thread. the one that i feel strongly about is having a hand replayer. this is something i really miss. i feel it would be so much easier than going back and reading word for word what happened.

my other suggestions are:

1. it's fun to cash, but i don't need to be informed more than once by the popups that i've cashed in a sitngo. just no need to have two seperate popups one after the other, saying i won 1st place.

2. the sound that plays when the action is on me seems very soft and quiet. admittedly, this may be an age related complaint. i'm 62 years old. other sites i've played on in the past have somthing that sounds like "ding dong" and very noticeable, instead of just "ding". and a soft "ding" at that. i wouldn't mind hearing from some other players whether it's just me or is it really a very soft sound. feedback anyone?

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

Thank you for introducing the super turbo heads up sng structure to RPM/Merge. Unfortunately, there are two major defects to this structure that need to be addressed before myself and many others can participate in them.

- The rake is much too high. PokerStars new hyper turbos rake at a rate of 2.2% for the smaller buyin levels. So where you have $5 + .25, they have $5 + .11. If you take a look at Full Tilt's rake (PokerStars doesn't have higher buyin STs yet), you'll see it goes down to 1.1% at the highest of stakes. This is in line with smaller edges at higher levels due to more competent players (and the smaller rake actually induces more action between "winners" and "regulars").

- The other issue is that the starting effective stacks are too short. You can double the effective stack depth by simply changing the 50-100 starting blinds to 25-50, and keep the 1500 chip stack and the blind increase time.

By making these two simple changes, you'll be more in line with a fair rake policy for these games. Remember, they run much faster than even turbo speed games, so even with 1.1-2.2% rake on all levels, these games can likely create more rake per minute than the 4.5-5% raked heads up sngs.

I doubt they have gotten the amount of feedback that they have gotten recently. However, just about everybody came from the big 2 at one point or another and played on that software.

I also agree that they welcome the feedback. Seth has always stayed active ITT. I'd be willing to bet he would be even more active if he wasn't so busy with everything right now.

Should keep providing the suggestions. I've seen a few changes before BF and more after. Definitely agree there is no reason to bash them. They offer great support and have always done what they could to satisfy their players, specifically at this skin compared to others.

Let's also keep in mind that most of the issues talked about are Merge issues rather than RPM.

Well then we need a "Merge Software Improvement Thread" if there isn't one already.

My point wasn't that this wasn't a good place for these type of posts, obviously it is. But we shouldn't berate RPM directly when things don't get changed as quickly as we'd like if it's not something they don't have direct control over.

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

I'm experiencing a glitch.

When mass tabling in cascade mode, tables requiring action stop coming to the front, while tables do come to the front where I'm already sitting out.

The feature works perfectly until I try to sit all and can't wait for the blinds.

+1 or RPM needs to move to a different network or start their own network.

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

I noticed a lot of MTTs going to 9-max tables instead of the previous 10-max. However, the payouts seem to still reflect the previous 10-max table structure as pay jumps are happening every 10 players instead of every 9 as one would expect. This is a small issue but while you're changing over MTTs to the 9-max format don't forget the payouts as well. An example of this is today's 3r at 3pm EST

this. you'll have a lot more SNG traffic if you sync the breaks along with MTTs

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

also I am sure this has already been said, but payout structures for mtts are very very bad right now.. min cashes should be at least 5-10% over the original buy-in, if not more. I am seeing a ton of min cashes listed 30-40% below the initial buy-in, with too high of a percent of the field getting paid. Please pay a smaller, reasonable percentage of the field (10% preferred) and the min cash amounts will fix themselves.

Shootouts and bounty mtts also have very bad payouts, please replace these with more freezeouts in the $5- $22 range, and please start more of these more often to encourage mtt grinders to play a full day's schedule. Right now I am playing $22 and under. It is almost impossible for me to keep over 5+ mtts going for over a span of 2 hours or more, which makes it very hard to players to operate efficiently, and achieve a decent ROI for their time.

thanks again seth

Re: RPM Poker Suggestion Box

Something has to change with clock straddling. In DON tournaments people just ride the clock until the low man gets blinded out. Gets pretty old even if you are in the top 5. I'm not really sure how you would go about solving this, but maybe after 7 players remove the extra clock function.

+7

I would also like to have a time bank so we don't time out during tough decisions.

Also, when a hand ends, it is so abrupt that I have to scour the chat to see who won and lost.

Overall, though, I like the software.
