RPM support still A+, can't really imagine better in poker world. Don't hate cashouts and reg infestation that is the state of games post BF. Adapt, improve or lobby for regulation.

Limit Rake is brutal, thank good for 35% rakeback. Plus hug your RPM logo it could be gone at any time or maybe even more reg infested. I'm not sure what they will do if the know at the door comes.

Thanks to Jon and Seth they work hard lets not forget that. The promos are good enough, though a few more tourney's for points or a list of them would be nice.

That isn't true.

Even the difference between May and June was a big jump. This was the time that a lot of people were making decisions on which skin to join (go read the June thread, a LOT of people chose RPM based on the assumption that monthly promotions would be of similar quality). Now that we can't switch skins, it gets severely nerfed.

Pre-June: Good Promotions, June: GREAT promotions, July: Mediocre promotions

I see why certain things needed to be limited, but it just feels like they went completely overboard with it. Hopefully August is better.

They were always similar, though they didn't offer the 8k hands for the $109. I was mainly meaning there was something everyday but possibly 1 some months. They were always much better then this month, IMO. I guess you could say June was a little better then the other months, but the pre June months weren't much of a drop-off. Not like this month anyway.

BTW, I agree with you, but I thought pre-June were Great also. June was just ridiculous and unsustainable. I knew they likely would stop the $109 tickets, but I thought it would be once they were easily making the Guarantee. There was a huge drop-off this month, which I think is pretty undeniable.

I doubt we will see anything close to June again and I bet the Network has/had something to say about that.

The promos are still quite good and RPM still kicks customer service ass. If network wide cuts in promos allows Merge to facilitate speedy withdrawals and more recreational players signing up/depositing, it will be well worth it

i lost about $234 in value per week because of all the changes

Everyone complaining needs to simmer down....Before BF if you were smart you could have easily been playing on RPM, getting close to 60% effective RB, and playing against the worst players by far of any site a US player can play on.

What were your other options....27% on FT...that sucked...and VIP on stars that sucked till you got to SN which takes awhile.

Even now you still get better rewards with 35% RB + other promos than any of the other sites have really ever offered unless you were SNE on Stars.

It does suck a little for new players who get in VIP, but times change.

Plus you EASILY get the BEST customer service of any poker site I have ever dealt with in the 7 years I have been playing.

I don't see why anyone is complaining, sure the promos took a hit....oh well, don't suck at poker and make money from poker and not from grinding promos + RB. It's still better than anything out there.

Yea promos def took a dive

Owell, hope they go back up once they realize that lowered traffic for June
07-03-2011 , 03:29 AM
Yeah, can't believe they took away the promos that gave some of their players 200% to 1500% rakeback. How selfish of them.
07-03-2011 , 07:12 AM
they should never have spoiled us lol

I don't have RB atm so it was the only way I wasn't getting raped by the rake and regs, and what u are talking about is ppl playing .11 STs and abusing it; the 1 buyin playing 150 super turbos is so dumb and such a waste of a promo
07-04-2011 , 12:02 PM
Iam, I agree the one buy in thing is not a very good promo....which is why i choose not to take part in it.

If you play 150 5+0.30 st's for this then that is $45 in rake you paid to get back $5.30. So about 12% additional rakeback on the day on top of your points or regular 35% or whatever. So it probably is a little better than some people think...if they sold it as "12% extra rakeback on top of your points" or something like that I think some people might actually think that's a good value. But yeah, it is just not so great and obviously isn't even in the same ballpark as the possible 1500% think that some did.

AFAIK any buyin promo they had never included the rake, so it would be $5 back.

for thursday, if 150 super turbos are played at 3 levels totaling 450 (ie 150 $5, 150 $10, 150 $20) games played, would the extra $$ be $20+$10+$5 or different?
07-05-2011 , 05:04 PM
When are the $10 cash awards and the $150 bonuses from June's "Turbocharged Thursday" going to be awarded? Also, when are June's Overdrive Club awards going to be handed out?

Thanks.

I was away for a week and when I came back July 3 the $10 from June 23 was not there. I used live chat and I was credited quickly. I do not know why they miss a lot of the promotions. As has been suggested, they should be automatic. It also should be easier to keep track of your progress towards attaining the various promos.

Do we have any options? I know there was talk of having a store at one point. Is this still gonna happen? The reason i ask is that from our perspective we're getting it a bit rough.

- We had points to cash taken away from us w/ no warning.
- We can now spend our points only on tourneys. Many if not most of us despise playing in tourneys because of the time commitment and a general dislike for them. We are cash game guys.
- Promos are pretty useless for us at this point as well.

Monday - double points. so we can play in more tourneys?
Tuesday - same
Wednesday - Play 5000 hands and earn an entry into a tourney. More tourneys
Thursday - Play 150 tourneys get a buyin back. This one is for tourney guys.
Friday - Play 10,000 hands and get $500 bonus. Ok this is for cash guys and sounds nice but 10k hands is pretty ridiculously hard to do. For example i can 12 table FR games for 12 hours and still be short of this by a decent margin.

I'm a little surprised RPM hasn't someway, somehow kept the ability to earn Sunday 100k tickets. I mean isn't Merge forking out like 20k for the overlay each week?

I mentioned that in one of my posts also. I knew we wouldn't continue getting the same value we did in June, but I thought it would be close until Merge wasn't having overlay in the 100K each week. I figured once the 100k started filling, we would no longer have that in the promo's. May as well offer a promo to get people to play more hands to award the ticket since it's coming out of their pocket anyway.

Maybe it's because Merge is paying the Overlay and because RPM has to pay for the tournament tickets?

What I don't understand is that when there's an overlay like that, why doesn't Merge do something like give extra tickets to their biggest losers. It would cost nothing and would strengthen Merge's economy by putting more money in the hands of the casuals who keep people like me playing so many hands

As much as I'd like to be able to earn 100K tickets myself, I kinda don't consider tourney tickets real money since it's not possible for me to get an unrigged one
