Hello boys and girls!

The long awaited version 5.0 is slated to come out on September 7th. And... wait for it... HERE COMES THE MAC VERSION!

Here's what else is new:

- The software has been improved and stabilized; no more trap errors. It is no longer coded in flash, but java 2d.
- Late Registration for tournaments
- Standalone tournament lobby window
- Multi-lingual support for the poker client (ie - the client can now be downloaded in different languages for easier regional use, Portuguese, Spanish, German, Russian, English).
- New news page facelift
- Changed location for balance display and network connection status

I've had a chance to view the new software, and I'm sure that everyone will be extremely pleased. The client is much more streamlined and sleek; it will make for a better playing experience.

And... for our friends that use Macs... rejoice! The time has come!

Wee. Guess waiting a few more weeks can't be too painful.

Will my player notes be automatically transferred when the new version upgrades? Or and how can I copy them manually?

Is this client also replacing the Windows client? A java client is very cool because it can run on Linux and various portable devices, that often run Linux. A lot of these portables (the new pads, but not the iPad) run Android, which is pretty Java friendly. So will this support Linux right away? There are a lot of Linux users who play Stars and/or FTP that would be pretty excited about a poker room with a native Linux client.

Nothing yet for me.

Is this still happening today? A little info from RPM would be appreciated, considering the build-up. Thanks!

Hey guys,

Here's an update.

There was a bug caught last night that's causing the delay of the release. When I have more information about the release date, I'll post it. Last I heard there was a 24 hour delay, and I have not received any word about that changing, so it's possible the client download will be released tomorrow. If this changes, I'll post here.

Further, the client will NOT automatically update your old software. When the new version is released, it will be in a Beta form and is an optional upgrade. When it is ready, there will be a link to the new client in your player admin, and it is up to you whether or not you choose to use it. I've seen the client and I think it's gorgeous, and there should be no reason not to switch over!

For what it's worth, we're also extremely disappointed that the client didn't come out today, but Merge is not going to release a piece of software that is flawed. The best things in life are worth waiting for... just a little bit longer!

Best,
RPM Seth

Can we get a screen shot or two for the wait?

Also.. with the new client, are hand histories going to be different (causing a delay until hem/pt updates their software) or will it be the same?

alright looking forward to the release, thanks seth

The only site I could ever get to run smoothly on Linux (using WINE) was PS (without frequent crashes anyway) -- I switched my laptop to Windoze because of the annoying disconnects, but am super paranoid about viruses and malware, etc --

Lately, RPM has become my site of choice - if I could go back to Linux --
