Does anyone know where to find video of the postmortem analysis and press conference anywhere?

Chessvibes.
The official site also has daily videos with game recaps and interviews.

Such a strange game. For him to make that comment about one should only play the sicilian against him if they're prepared to 'bring it', Carlsen sure seemed unprepared. Based on move times it looks like he left his prep around move 11.

White vs. Kramnik next, it will be interesting to see how he plays that one with two rounds left and a half-point lead, and Anand having white vs. Giri.

Naka more/less destroyed Nepo-- with Black.

I'm impressed.

Wow, I just saw on liverating.org that, to this point, Nakamura has gained 22.7 rating points from this tourney. He's now up to 7th in the world, which as far as I can tell is a personal best ranking. I'd love to see him finish this off right in the last two rounds.

I was about to post the same thing. He's passed Mamedyarov and is just 2.3 points out of the top 5.

Yep, he'll be #5 if he can knock off Kramnik tomorrow.

Even tho I still despise his behaviour/attitude to other players, I gotta admit that he has improved IMMENSELY over the past year and a half or so. Really really good and solid chess in this tournament, superb performance!

How much do you think opening is a part of that? It was what, 5 years ago that he played 1. e4 c5 2. Qh5? Learning a more mature repertoire, getting really comfortable with the resulting positions, etc has to be at least some of the difference, but I'm not nearly good enough to guess how much. Any thoughts?

Nakamura definitely used to take too many risks at the wrong time. Taking an easy draw against Kramnik today, instead of trying aggressively to win with white, is a great sign of his maturation.

it's a shame, because he seems like a really awful human being, but he's definitely arrived in the world elite even if he doesn't win this tournament outright. A year ago it looked like he would float around the top thirty and occasionally break into the top 10, but it was almost inconceivable to me at least that he could become a serious World Championship contender. Now it's not out of the question at all.

His behavior/attitude from ~10 years ago is different from, his behavior/attitude 5 years ago, is different from his behavior/attitude behavior today.

He is 23 years old now, people can grow up at some point, you know.

RT, what makes him seem like a really awful human being? Has he committed crimes and hurt people physically? Seriously, what makes him seem like a really awful human being?

Needless to say ICC chat/behavior is just that. It's not horrible to be a punk online or to disrespect people on ICC for that matter. It's ICC ffs. You don't like it personally, just censor someone.

Naka was always extremely talented, always had a strong desire to win, it's no surprise to me that he's had such a performance in this tournament. I always figured he would land in the top 10 at some point, the only question left is if he will win the world championship or not? There are sometimes other factors and politics involved with that, so it's harder to predict/assess.

One refreshing thing about Naka in the post game analysis is that he is very open about what he saw and didn't see and how he is afraid he might miss moves. From what I remember of Fischer and the Russians always pretended to see everything and have everything totally under control.

I'm really glad I'm not good enough at anything that the public would have had a chance to form an impression of me from around 13 to 23.

Congratulations, Naka! Great tournament!

Favorite game of the tournament:
Carlsen's artistic NvB win over Kramnik.

Nakamura was in his hotel room watching his rival’s game on the relay. “It was totally unexpected to see it ending in a draw,” he told the press. “I was sort of jumping up and down around the room. I was so happy. Winning a tournament is always nice but winning an elite tournament like this is something completely different. I cannot remember the last time an American won a major tournament. I hope my victory will make for greater interest in chess back home in the States.”

The tournament winner explained his “manner of playing chess has changed” of late. “I have become more serious about chess. No more 2.Qh5, no more crazy openings for me. My results have improved. Hopefully, I can keep it going. I hope to break 2800 by the end of this year,” he said.

I wouldn't be surprised in the least if he makes 2800 by year's end.
