I tried this for about 40 minutes, didn't fiinsh it got the first two moves right though, thought it was an interesting one.

Is a surprising finish, but I assume black is trying to win and thus just moves the king instead of taking the en passant?

Wat? If I understood correctly you are implying that black has a draw if he takes the en passant, which makes me believe that you didn't solve it correctly

En passant doesnt get the draw as after bxc3 the black king is stuck on d5 and has to move away from the white pawn which can be guided up the board by whites king while the bishop holds the c3 square or for that matter any square on the a1-h8 diagonal.
