Activates the Queen more and creates 2 potential threats, both of which do nothing now because they are blockable but restricte the moves White can do right now otherwise they might become valid moves. Those are Rf5 and Qc2+.

Agreed. Both players' commentary consists of "threats" which are pretty empty. I'm guessing this has to due mainly with the fact that White is so much better, both players are a little lazy in their analysis; I don't think we'll see these moves actually appear on the board...

The threat is ...Qc2+ followed by ...Qxc4. I'm not afraid of ...Rf5 because I have Ne7+ (Rxe7 isn't possible due to back rank mate).
A) 30. Rd2 if ...Qb1 31.b3
B) 30. b3 if ...Qc2+ 31.Rd2
against either move if black plays h3(preventing back rank mate), then I have to play g4 to stop Rf5
b3 is better as playing 30.b3 Qc2 31 Rd2 Qb1 gives white a tempo over 30.Rd2 Qb1 31.b3 (if black wants his queen on b1)
after the above moves, my position seems like i'm walking a tight rope. I can't move my bishop (Qe1 mate) moving my queen leads to mate threats (..Rf5+ followed by ...Qe1+ ...Rf1, and Rh1#

I'm doing this to make Rf5 a possibility and to eliminate the need for my major pieces to defend backrank mate in general. I'm figuring h5 is a better square than h6 because it attacks g4, plus the pawn might be useful on h4 later

No worries. I ended up taking a while this move too.

Rf5 is a threat. two of my choices are g4, and Kg1. After g4, soon after 1...f5 is possible for black. To which I'd respond 2.Nf4. Here black has Qf7 and Qxg4. Qxg4 leads to a winning end game after a trade of queens and Bxa7. 2...Qf7 potentially pins the knight (after ...fxg4 Qxg4)

I don't like 31.g4 hxg4 32.hxg4 f5 33.Nf4 Qf7 34.Bd4 fxg4 35. Qxg4 Re2+ With 34.Rd3 fxg4 35.Qxg4 g5?! as soon as his king moves my knight falls, and my king can't go to 36. Ke2 Qxf4,

but 33. g5 seems ok.
