An OTB tournament game I played where I'm White and it's my move. Black just played 19 ...d5 and I've been kicking him around in the opening I an know he's just dying to play 20 ...d4 with his first real threat of the game.
So I play 20. Nc6 and he doesn't see the threat and quickly plays 20 ...d4:
WHITE TO MOVE
SOLUTION AND FINAL POSITION BELOW
21. Nxd8 dxc3 22. Re8+ Kg7 23.Bxc3 the Queen is pinned to the King and White wins the back the Queen and the exchange.
So this was really just a pseudo-queen sac, but it's the only Queen sac I've played in an OTB game and I kind of like it as the knight really does a heavy-duty job:
-by moving to c6 it clears the e-file for the White rook
-it then moves off of c6 which opens the b5 Bishop's diagonal controlling the e8 square
-at the same time it then takes out the rook at d8,which clears the back rank for white's rook,
-but most importantly and perhaps trickiest of all, it covers the f7 flight square of the Black King, so the King must move to g7 where it gets pinned.
Here's the position after Bxc3:
