I got an add for a new game on youtube that combines chess and poker.

Downloaded the app and gave it a go and it seems pretty neat so far. They are still in beta at the moment and I think are only available in a couple of countries but I was curious if anyone else had seen this. They mention a top 10 GM who is excitied about the potential opening theory so I'd be interested in who that is, maybe Naka

Haha yeah doubt it will ever be played for money.

It’s more a social novelty game at the moment. I do quite like the software and think the ratios/game mechanics are pretty well thought out. If I had a criticism at this point it would be that some games could last a while.

Since it’s basically a hu sng where you essentially play a chess game for each hand, it could take a while if you have lots of hands that go check check or small bet sizes. Although the games I’ve played so far have been pretty quick

The software is really good and the tutorial is great. I feel that there should be some info in the poker stage - ie stud with some cards up - and the board will need to be smaller with so few pieces. Knights will probably be just trash.

I didn't see but can you resign?

Resignation is an option, though I don’t think there is a draw offer. Games can be drawn but I haven’t seen a draw button
