I played an unfamiliar opening with the help of my database and found a "novelty" on move 16 leading to this wild position. (previously 16...d5 was played in the only other game, Black went on to win but I think White made a mistake).

Well don't accept it for sure. After not much analysis, I'd want to play Kb8 since Ka7 is just a massive threat and I just don't know how he can meet it.

I mean it's odd. He's practically in zugzwang. Knight can't move or d4 falls, queen can't leave the g file, the rooks have no useful squares.

results:

I didn't find Kb8, which I now think is the only move to win (it's possible to draw in other lines).

I played on and played 21...e4? which is probably losing, and lost fairly quickly after 22. h4!? (totally missed the point of this move) Qxc2? 23. Qg7 and 24. Rh3.
