May I ask what event you picked up the GM norm in?

Zviad plays poker full time now and reads 2p2 religiously, although posts rarely. His USCF rating is 2635; peak was 2724 but declined as his interest in poker grew, obv.

Havent played much serious chess for a long time but my Fide rating is around 2300

The highest rated 2+2´er is Tom Martell (2502), almost 600 points ahead of the next guy. That makes him our own Bobby F.

Shouldn´t this make you an IM?

Not quite sure... IA Carol Jarecki once explained to me something like the GM norm been worth two IM norms or if u choose to keep the GM norm... then just one IM or something to that effect... not like it matters anymore at this point... but oh well.. maybe I am an IM and dont even know it LOL

I think you better check, to my knowledge at some time in the past the FIDE rules have changed in your favour and you can use a norm twice if necessary. You fulfill the rating requirement too, so that should make you an IM with a GM norm, an IM+ so to say. Get to work dude, this is a shame.

I am 99% sure that you can use this GM norm for your IM title and then still keep it.

No offence, but a 2500 ICC doesnt exactly make you a Bobby fischer....

but before about 1995, norms could expire (you had to get 3 norms within 5 years or something). So if one of your norms is from a long time ago, it might be no good.

I know Gnejs (the top dog of bughouse@fics back when eg the late 90's) went into poker but haven't met him in several years. Stanley (they won the swedish championship together like 6 years straight) also plays poker but has serious BR management issues.

The top players used to like me as partner cause I was fast(I used to play lightning with the degens who noplayed people who played less than a hundred games straight =) with good combinational skill.

Played my best with FireFly our styles fit well together and he was awesume at understanding how the boards fit together and hinting me. I never became really good due to having problems with watching my partners board and only being a <1800 blitz player.

Think I would get crushed if I logged on today.
