Has your chess game improved and how?

I reached a plateau for a long time with a rating between 1400-1500. Just these past couple weeks I've been steady at 1600. I attribute this mainly from watching kingscrusher videos on youtube and solving the daily puzzle at chessgames.com. It just gave me more ideas of different attacks and positions to go for that my earlier self wouldn't have even considered or noticed.
