Great Nimzo game from Reshevsky

I was looking over some Nimzo lines the other night and came across this game from Reshevsky, played in 1952 against Eleazar Jimenez. I really like the way Reshevsky played it, hope y'all enjoy it too.

Full game link: http://www.chessvideos.tv/chess-game...r.php?id=73907

1. d4 Nf6 2. c4 e6 3. Nc3 Bb4 4. e3 O-O 5. Ne2 d5 6. a3 Be7 7. cxd5 exd5 8. Ng3 Re8 9. b4

The idea behind 9. b4 is to prevent a ...c5 push from black. White wants to get the center pawns moving with f3 and e4, but if f3 is played too early, black can counterattack with ...c5 and put white's center under a great deal of pressure.

9...c6 10. Bd3 g6 11. O-O Bd6 12. f3 Qc7 13. Nce2 h5 14. e4 h4 15. Bg5!

Great move with 15.Bg5! Reshevsky's point is he allows black to capture on h2, but virtually ignores the pawn and uses it to shield his own king. Meanwhile he also gets e5 in which gives him a crushing kingside space advantage.

15...hxg3 16. Bxf6 gxh2+ 17. Kh1 Nd7 18. Bh4 Nf8 19. e5 Be7 20. Be1!

Another great move. His point is that from e1, the bishop covers the a5 square, preventing any ...a5 from black and subsequent queenside counterplay.

20...Ne6 21. f4 Ng7 22. Ng3 Bf8 23. Ra2!

I don't want to be that guy that always gives exclamation points, but I really like this move. Reshevsky doesn't rush the attack and prepares to swing his rook over to the kingside at the right moment.

23...Re6?

Not sure what black is thinking here. This walks right into white's obvious f5 plan.

24. f5 gxf5 25. Nxf5 Rg6 26. g4!

My last exclam, I promise I love this move though. Crushing. Black can't ever capture on f5 now, and the second rank is open for the rook on a2. Black can't last long now.

26...a5 27. Rxh2 Ne8 28. Qf3 Bg7 29. Qh3 Kf8 30. Bd2 Resigns, 1-0

And here black resigns, he can't deal with the coming kingside onslaught. Just a great game from Reshevsky. What I really loved is how he not only killed his opponent's play, but how he advanced his own at the same time. The piece harmony between white's forces is great to see as well.

Raw PGN dump for anyone that wants it
