I just found this Forum and wondered if someone here is actually playing Go?
I actually think Go is much better than chess, especially because computer programs are not as good at it as they are at chess.

Maybe we can get some discussion on Go (and Go problems) going so this forum isnt all about chess!

What server are you playing on? or are you just going to a local Go club?

I'm 5d at Go.
I'd be interested in Go discussion - although I'm not sure that a chess board is the optimal place.

I am playing at a local Go club. It's actually not too bad, just being around people who are much better than you at go helps.

This is really a poker board that just has a board game section. :-)

I don't often play online at the moment. I've just moved house, and I need to get my phone sockets working before I can get online from home.

It should be fixed in the next couple of weeks - I'll let you know when it's sorted.

I mainly played on IGS and KGS in the past.

hi, currently 1k on kgs, use to play a ton some years ago. I know lots of good sites and books, and wouldn't mind helping someone work on their game or vice versa. My kgs screenname is jayz.

Nice, we should be of similiar strength then (im 1d on igs).

Do you know any good Fuseki books? I bought 3 volumes of "dictionary of modern fuseki" by rin kaiho, but i dont really feel like i learn alot from these.

Are you looking for opening theory or a dictionary? I think theory wise opening is not too complicated if you understand which way you want to build your walls. Then just study the relevant joseki. From someone who doesn't study the opening that extensively here's the one I really like.

http://senseis.xmp.net/?ADictionaryO...TheKoreanStyle

It's well organized, has really big clear diagrams, and some commentary as well. When it first came out it had more of the popular openings that were being played professionally at the time, instead of a lot of standardish openings in most fuseki books. Might be outdated now, but it's still the one I look through from time to time when I get bored of my openings. Lots of interesting and aggressive lines.
