Chess Notation in Speech?!

Asking here before I embarrass myself going first time to the local chess club.
Let's imagine I do not know the name of a specific opening, for example Sicilian defense... How do I verbally express the moves that signify this opening? On the web it's easy: "1. e4 c5 2. Nf3 d6"... you just write the moves. How does this work live? How do you pronounce the above notation?
"First: e four, c five, second: knight f six, d six"?
This be confusing.

Don't say the move numbers.
e four, c five, knight f three, d six, etc. etc. etc.

And for captures you say "takes" - "Queen takes f4", "e takes d4"
