Allegedly the evidence is Hans' hundreds of OTB games that are statistical outliers according to chessbase's "let's check" feature. That's the latest "evidence" at least. I know far too little about stats and cheat detection with stats to know if it should be actual evidence or not.

I'm a lawyer. The strangest part of the statement is the bit at the end where Magnus says that he is limited in what he can without explicit permission from Niemann.

It's true that you can say anything about anyone if they give you explicit permission. But if that's all Magnus meant, the statement is meaningless.

Grischuk said it perfectly about that game: 'Nieman played average and Carlsen played badly.'

I think we can all accept Sasha as an unbiased observer of that OTB game, no?

Wow, holy ****. Five straight tournaments playing better than Fischer during his 20 game win streak.

Also, respect to that guy from one of the video examples…got to a 45 move endgame against Stockfish only down a few pawns.

Yeah, I'm pretty sure the question of Hans' past cheating online is totally irrelevant to Carlsen's accusations of OTB cheating.

If someone gets murdered, you don't go rounding up the money launderers and car thieves and tax fraudsters because: Felonies!

Just a precision because I do not know which side u are leaning on but all those games from the videos analysis are from OTB games , not online it seems .

So the guy has a) a history of cheating and b) a lot of circumstantial evidence that he's making computer moves. Maybe Magnus isn't so out of line after all.

That matching algorithm is questionable. One GM claims that in a game that was given a 100% match, there was at least one blunder and a high centipawn loss.

Evidence that Hans's play improved when he toggled off screen between moves seems pretty damning, at least for on-line play.

Not sure why everyone's talking about cheating scandals, when they could be talking about Duck Chess:

Wow, I was ready to say nothing is more compelling than this cheating stuff. But...you have proven me wrong!

A+

I also predict Hans will win the US Championship. He’s currently in a 4 way tie for first at 2/3.

Absurd. Close up view at 2:10 ish. He grabs Hans' king on Hans' time, and pulls the cross out (in some wood sets the cross is removable, it's on a snugly fit peg). Why would he think to do this at that moment? It's not like there was something visibly wrong with it.

Not much of an explanation from Hans.

Saw this on an Instagram ad. Think it's any good or just total scam? Looking for something similar if know anything good.

Got to the comments section of their kickstarter campaign and you can get a real idea of Square Off.

The product is 3 years overdue for most orders and for those that have it, many have issues with it.

They just fire sold the company as well - so TBD if they are even around in a year.

As far as robotic boards - you can also find an even bigger scam called Phantom - that project might never deliver.

I own a version of most smart boards out there. Can tell you what works and what doesn’t if you have any questions.

If you want a robotic board specifically, there are not any good choices at this time. If you want an e-board there are actual products on market that work.

My kid (3.5) has been playing for a few months. He's actually competent on the board. He's more clueless on apps and I also don't like the screen time. A smart board seems like a great fit. What's the difference between those and an e-board?
