Firouzja is doing Prodigy Things again, btw.
He started with a
dominant national championship win (1.5 points ahead of the field) played between Jan. 24th and Feb 3rd.
Then after one day off he dove straight into a
pretty strong open, and won *IT* with a clutch final round win over a 2600 GM. That one was played from Feb. 5th to Feb. 11th (note they doubled up games twice, this was 9 games in 7 days).
Then with no rest he went straight into the
Third International Stars Cup which'll give him 8 more games against 2600+ opposition. He opened with a draw.
By my math, his live rating is now 2640. If he were to overperform to the tune of +2 in the Stars Cup, he would crack the top 100 list (remember he's still 15 years old).
Stars Cup ends on Feb. 17th (once again a grueling two games in the same day happen two times in the schedule) at which point he'll have played 28 games in 25 days. Time for a rest?
Sure, he gets the 18th off... from chess. And spends it traveling to Russia, where on the 19th he starts
Aeroflot. Insane.
My suspicion is that he'll probably burn out by the end of this crazy schedule, and I don't have particularly high hopes for his Aeroflot results, but if he somehow keeps up his good form there's a hypothetical world where by the end of February he's rated 2650+. And he doesn't turn 16 until June.
