Any tips on weighing castling options? My general philosophy is to keep my castling options open as long as possible with a few exceptions: I'm playing the kings indian defense vs oddball openings, or when I'm on the attack in an open ruy lopez and I want to get my kingside rook involved. Besides that, I'll castle if and when I feel it's necessary. Occasionally, I get into an opening that doesn't present any obvious attacks; sort of an opening zugswang. I'll castle and solidify my position.
I'm guessing there's some next level stuff that I'm not aware of. Thanks.
