Hahahaha. In this video, at the 12:50 mark, the BYP says "...and he [the opponent] has no idea about the concept of full fundamental teamwork chess...", right after the BYP just mated the guy having moved only his queen and LSB, with both rooks and the DSB on their original squares. I love this guy.

On one of his videos, someone in the comments section compared his speaking style and antics to a wrestling promoter. Nailed it.

I like how he says after 4.Ng5, there's a number of very good ways to block the knight and bishop attack on f7. That's true, the number is one. I did have someone play 4...Nd5 once, which, although flawed, was a very creative idea.

His unnatural confidence level and faux-understanding of the game remind me of me wrt poker back in 2003.

I couldn't stand the low level amateurs that didn't respect my bull**** raises.

Guy I know irl begged me to join his sub-group (the 3rd group of his I've joined, one of which was subsequently disbanded) because "we need better players, we got our butt kicked last time". The "we" here means players in the Southern USA (the sub-group). I told him I wasn't really interested in playing drawn out 3-day tourneys (it's a round robin match play), and he begged me and said the players play fast so I told him fine.

So I register and he's not registered. I ask him if he's playing and he says he doesn't play in the events since he's TD and wants to "remain objective". So basically he begged me to join "his" team, I thought I was joining his team, and now I'm not. lol. Kinda peeved and want to unregister.

Is what he did kind of "wrong" or am I over-reacting? He basically sold it as me joining his team and now it's just me playing with randos that I don't care about.

also, i don't know if anyone ever picked up on this, but from Kxf7 on, he actually thought he was a piece ahead instead of a pawn down, since he didn't realize that Bxd5 regained the piece.

i haven't felt this homicidal in a long time.

I noticed it, but genuinely couldn't tell if he thought he was still up a piece or if he just didn't think the material mattered at all because his opponent was playing "wrong".

It was an OTB game, right? Man, this kid must have really rustled him for him to run to the computer, puff his chest out, and talk down about his attack like the guy was a complete fool. I mean, hanging the queen was obviously dumb but that attack is super common down at his level and some players will definitely defend poorly against it.

I found a poster that is completely delusional about his playing strength. His comments in these threads are amazing.

"Real life IM streaming Chess.com"

He comes back a couple of months later and claims to be 2000 this time.

There's a non-zero chance I set a rating goal on chess.com this year -- in either blitz or standard, because correspondence takes too long. My #1 hobby has been going well enough that I won't feel guilty about assigning more "serious time" to chess.

Rei, do you mind disclosing your #1 hobby? I've seen you reference it a few times but have never heard what it is.
