And he ended with 3 straight wins in the last tournament too. When was the last time you saw someone have a 7.5/8 streak??

Caruana at the Sinquefield Cup, obviously.

But which is more intimidating?

"eto mne?" (- Grischuk)

"sono io?" (- Care-you-wanna)

"it's Gelfand." (- Carlsen)

"Boom!" (- Gelfand)

Sick It was just after the time control, both had plenty of time, White spent 10 minutes on the preceding move and blundered, in turn, Black spent 10 minutes on his move but still didn't find the win...

Now we know that he [Grischuk] is going to because he is 2810.2 after the draw with Aronian and has only 1 classical game left (the last round tomorrow) that counts for this month's rating list (the Russian championship counts towards the December one).

Quick draw against Kramnik today, Grischuk wins the tournament 5.5/7.

Dude too busy crossfitting and jetting around the world on his honeymoon. Has no time for the little people at 2p2. Although I don't think it'd be hard to get him back to comment on something. I have a feeling he likes 2p2 just doesn't sink his time into it like he used to as a daily thing.

Okay, I tapped into the brains of all the top GMs and discovered how they rate the rest of the world's elite.

Quality: Highest (Honorable Mention), Lowest (Honorable Mention)

Calculation: Caruana (Grischuk), Kramnik
Positional understanding: Adams, Mamedyarov
Tactical vision: Aronian (Mamedyarov), Kramnik
Openings: Caruana, Carlsen
Endings: Carlsen (Kramnik), Svidler
Mental resilience: Grischuk, Nakamura (Aronian)
Time handling: Grischuk, Grischuk
Non-chess impact on opponent: Topalov (Carlsen), Giri

I learned that Anand wears a toupee. Maybe as a psychological tactic, Carlsen can bring a couple of suitcases containing midgets into the playing room, and have them pop out, yank Vishy's toupee, and run away.

All,

Try composing quirky or bizarre chess games. Make the moves for both sides, use an engine to avoid silly blunders; they should be reasonably plausible. This is my first composition; I could have spent longer on the endgame, but I like it anyway.

John Watson's ICC videos are just the purest nuts. Also they make chess seem so much easier than it is.

I have to castle artificially in a decent % of games vs comps on chess.com because they love to sac pieces on f2/f7 That doesn't qualify as an equalish game, though.

I guess such games can be generated by matching weakened Stockfishes against each other.
