Considering that the idea of tactical problems is to drill patterns into your brain, knowing that the solution is there is not such a huge problem imo.
2) Big Boss Chucky has hosted a masterclass on site, reviewing the games of his first ever candidates match from back in 1991. He speeds through sections he deems unmeriting of deeper examination, so having the PGNs nearby might come in handy.
Black to move. Solution and all comments in the spoiler.
Spoiler:
This position comes from the game Sos Andreu-Kamsky in Gibraltar.
Here Kamsky played 23...Nf2! I love moves like this. The ideas/variations behind it aren't really complicated, but it's such a strange looking move that it could easily be overlooked during a game. Really beautiful.
I think it's a tiebreaker system: goats. If the tournament were to end now, Magnus Carlsen would be awarded seven goats and Anand would have nine goats confiscated from him.
Tex, that's a fascinating game I'd missed, ty for that.
Also ty to Rei for posting the Chucky Masterclass. I've got a couple of tough County matches starting in around 4 hours so I'm gonna grab some breakfast, take a bracing stroll and then watch the vid before I depart.

thanks for the post, Ivanchuk's attire with the adidas jacket and the 30 degrees rotated cap is hilarious.
2. Bg2 is the main defense and gangstaman's line is correct. The pawns can't promote in time.
Spoiler:
I cheated with a computer just now since it seems we've solved this, and it seems I messed up the last move, 6. Kf1, as that doesn't actually save the bishop for white after 6...Nh4.
So for fun, I took that final position after 6. Kf1 and edited it so that the black knight was on h8 -- black still wins easily as the rook can easily get over to the queenside via h4 and h5.
This one took me a while, but it was very pretty. Black to move.
Hints if you need one:
Spoiler:
Winning a bishop is not enough, and don't look for mate.
Seems pretty clear:
Spoiler:
Obviously, 1...g3 2. Bg2 (only move) Qxh2+ 3. Kf1 and now simply 3...gf2 and the White queen is attacked and there is also the threat of ...fxe1+ and 4. Qxh2 is answered by the intermezzo.
Here's a caption in the New York Times that makes chess look really respectable: "Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the incumbent president of the chess federation and self-described space-alien abductee."
