I want to finally get better with openings. As such I have decided on the caro and nimzo (the move by move books for both of these arrived yesterday), but against the nimzo my opponents can play 3. Nf3 and I need a response to this. Can anyone recommend me something and a good book? I also purchased A Strategic Opening Repertoire for White by John Watson. I hope I didn't make a mistake with this.

I am thinking of the Queen's Indian and / or the Bogo Indian, but haven't had luck with tracking down a book for either / both.

"Techniques of Positional Play" is really good.It covers a theme and then has a few examples of that particular theme. Basically it builds your pattern recognition of positional themes so you can react faster in a game.

Although not a book, I would recommend anyone who is serious about improving their game to get Chessbase. It has Millions of games you can go through and get ideas from different opennings.

I second this suggestion.
