1. I've been playing chess nearly every minute that I'm not in class or sleeping for the last two weeks--- all night, usually until like 6am.
1.1 First I was doing it for fun.
1.12 And it was fun.
1.2 Then I made a bet with someone that I would train 24-7 a week and that I would be able to beat them. (This person plays competitively, but has a relatively modest ranking-- at least compared to some other people on the university's chess team-- who are rated at like 2000)
2. Things were going great. I got my rating up to a little over 1400 on WCL.
2.1 I was splitting games with 1500 level players. I was beating 1500 level computers.
2. Now, after 1 & 5/7 weeks of near straight playing, I can't win a game.
2.1 I went through the entire Chess Masters catalog of training videos. I watched a lot of the annotated games. I looked over many A06 games, and King’s Indian defense variations. (I didn’t look at any e4 openings. So I am always unprepared against e4 openings.) I worked on chess puzzles.
3. Saturday and Sunday are my two last days of training.
3.1 Friday-Sunday I usually play for like 14 hours.
3.2 Other weekdays I play for like 7 hours.
4. Now, I’ve lost like 10 games in a row.
4.1 I can’t play slow any more. I just want to throw all of my pieces out there.
4.2 Every game just feels like one long drag into an inevitable loss.
4.3 Everything I do, someone will counter.
5. I’m in the tournament on here. I’m playing my matches tomorrow. 87% is in luck.
6. I’m hoping that I snap out of this tomorrow.
6.1 But I have another 14 hour day of chess ahead of me after I wake up tomorrow.
6.2 Things will just feel the same tomorrow night after lots of playing.
7. Whereof one cannot win, thereof one must stop playing.
