I used to really enjoy playing chess when i was 10 or something (25 now), but like many other things, it fell by the wayside and i didn't really play it again.

For the past while i've been thinking of starting it up as a hobby, and would appeciate any help or pointers for books, to help someone who basically knows the name of every piece and its function, but very little else.

As an aside, i just got done watching the Kasparov/Deep Blue documentary, and found it strangely creepy, by which i mean the inherent hostilities and good versus evil vibe present throughout.

Anyway, that doesn't really matter, so cheers in advance for any help.
