"Chess is having a moment. Chess is also having a decade. The game has been on an upward trajectory in pop culture ever since the charismatic Magnus Carlsen, who has even worked as a model, won the World Chess Championship in 2013. That same year, Congress declared St. Louis the country’s 'chess capital.' Now Netflix’s 'The Queen’s Gambit' has ratcheted interest up to new heights. As millions of converts download chess apps and buy boards, it’s time to dispel a few myths about this ancient game..."

Remember when she ran a heads up no limit texas hold'em and classical chess tournament at the same time (or maybe she just played in it)?

Here's a great tournament. Have Magic: The Gathering, chess, and NLHE at the same time in 1 tournament.

Rules will be the following:

1. Chess: FIDE rules and FIDE time controls based on the time controls for the world championship.

2. Poker: WSOP rules for the $10,000 Main Event tournament

3. Magic: The Gathering will have the rules and format for Standard

That one would not get a high turnout.

There's a decent amount of poker players who came into poker from chess.

There are also quite a few of those who played Magic: The Gathering as kids and then switched over to poker since it was trendier/more profitable game to play as an adult.

Those two sets hardly intersect, so there won't be too many players who could play all 3 games.

I kinda like watching the odd chessboxing match, especially if the two players are equally skilled or equally bad at either.
