We had a great success with our first chess tournament!

We are *NOW* opening registration for the Second 2p2 Chess Championship



we now have a bigger crew of organizers:

The tournament will now have a different formant forsake of everyone's enjoyment.

Instead of holding another KO tournament, which is boring for whoever loses the first round, it will be a Swiss, so everyone can play a lot of games.

The tournament will at least be 5 rounds. If 64 people join then it will be increased to at least 6 rounds, 128 to at least 7 rounds.

So we still don't know how many rounds the tournament will ultimately have but it will at least have 5 rounds. We will only know it after the registration is closed and this thread will be updated then.



every round will be:

4-game match

the winner of the match wins 1 point
the loser 0
if the match is 2x2 both players get 0,5 points



time control: 5 min + 2 seconds per move


tie breaks:

1- total number of points in every match
2- direct match (5 games of 5/2 time control)


Place:

held on FICS(http://www.freechess.org/) so nobody needs to pay account like on ICC or playchess and everyone can play. FICS is simple, you just register and download a small software(called Babas or any other you want), then meet the player for his nick that we will find here in this post. and challenge him at a give time. (we scheduled the games thru private messages in this forum)

so if you register much earlier please be aware of this date.

As a side note, what do you think about the creation/development of a Ladder (challenge) system in the future? Sorta like the one Yahoo used to have that was decently popular at one point. Could be fun.

I'm not sure how complicated/annoying it would be to maintain/calculate this though.

A) I'm not nearly as good as you guys

B) I'm going on a couple vacations in the next month and a half so hopefully that won't interfere with the tourament

I appreciate the work you've done in the chess forum, but you came like quite a douche (not to mention posting under different account and talking about yourself in 3rd person?) in that thread.

Also, I am not a regular poster in that forum and I was too lazy to check your other threads, but if several people in the thread say that you normally just argue with every advice you have been given, I tend to believe it's true. If it is, then it's just wrong. People are giving you advice because they are trying to help - of course you can dissagree with them, politely asking to explain their logic or something like that, but if you just say "no, you are wrong, the play I made was good" then why on earth do you create that thread in the first place?
