There are plenty of amateur players out there who aren't really that good at chess but study up on openings a lot. If someone gets messed up by 'street openings', that's what they are, they're not actually good at chess. Magnus is not that. He's a chess uber-genius. As soon as you get to an unfamiliar position with him, that's when he will start to outplay you. If you play some silly opening, by definition it's a worse opening than the well-established stuff, and Magnus will crush you that much more convincingly.
