If anyone wants a tip, go bet on the Anand-Aronian game tonight to be a draw. The game will almost certainly be a Ruy Lopez and when Black is the stronger player against an unambitious player of the White pieces, that opening has a very high drawing frequency. In the last 3 years, they have played 5 times in Classical chess where Anand was White, all 5 games were Ruys, and all 5 were drawn. Most of the books are requiring you to bet around $100 to win $60, and I am guessing the chance of this game being a draw is around 70%.

You're right, Ruy. Just not berlin as I expected. FML. So surprised at the result.

Aronian spent a lot of time on the first 25 moves or so. I think he reached move 35 with 10 seconds on the clock.

yeah, half a point is nothing at this stage, Aronian is probably still favourite to win it. Looks like all the bookies have taken the market down though, which is a shame.

Would be funny if Anand won this. That rematch sure would be a tough sell! Don't think it's gonna happen though.

Round 2 going much better

Goo Aronian! If his 2007 match vs Carlsen is anything to go by, that would make for an epic WC.

Also, really nice game by Kramnik today.

As long as Anand doesn't win... ughghgh

They wouldn't dare to pull a Shirov on him, that's for sure.

Where can I find some good analysis of these games after they are played as I can't watch them live?

I have watched a bit of kingcrusher so far and the Anand win over Shakhriyar was a great game.

ChessExplained is my favorite YT channel for in-depth analysis of these games. You might have to wait until the evening for the games to pop up.

Each round's live feed is uploaded afterwards as well.

It seems Aronian wilts whenever the World Title is involved.

Anand still in the lead with 3/4 after drawing with Kramnik (in second with 2.5/4).

Aronian won an interesting game against Svidler and is also 2.5/4.

I love the nicknames that kibitzers have invented for some of these guys, Drawnik and Topreplov in particular.

With Kramnik and Svidler losing today , Aronian is the only one half a point behind Anand, who is still leading 4/6.

First half of the tournament is over.

4.5 Anand
4.5 Aronian
4.0 Kramnik
3.5 Svidler
3.0 Andreikin
3.0 Mamedyarov
3.0 Topalov

I haven't seen today's games yet, but it was a nice round, with three decisive games.

shocking full point blunder from Mamedyarov against Kramnik

what was he thinking? "nice! I can let him queen with check in two different ways, but it's OK because he can't defend against Nf3 and mate"?
