Glad to see Anand play an interesting game, but on the other hand it's Houdini not Anand playing. I somehow can't help but kind of shrug off the game - neat Houdini trap, now back to Magnus' Ponziani!
Yip. I was actually thinking the same myself, though Anand - Kasparov in particular. I guess just seeing Anand play one insipid uninspired game after another only to suddenly snag two victories in one event due to an enormous blunder from one opponent and a Houdini opening trap in another just leaves me even more annoyed with his recent play!
check out how Edouard gifted Smeets his first point of the tournament. Amazing and consoling that this stuff happens to 26+ GMs. Messing up against a simple forced 5-move line.
Gotta give Anand credit. I didn't think he'd play d5 against Carlsen. But then I had to take away that credit when he pussed out and relieved all the tension turning it into a dead draw. Posting this after 20. Qxd5 for the sake of amusement should I come back tomorrow and somehow see a 0-1 posted for the game.
Why do they invite Peter Leko to tournaments anymore? It seems like all he ever does is draw without ambition. Its like he doesn't even try to win anymore.

Looked very smooth, too. Black's play hardly seemed to trouble White's plans.
Also lol at the post game interview, he's so ****ing pleased with himself heh
Hahaha he is on cloud 9 there isn't he? I'm glad to see he seems to get just as much pleasure eeking out these sort of fighting draws as players do in watching them happen! At the same time I also love his honesty and frankness in interviews. Damn I hope he keeps playing. Once he's WC and 2900+ I can't even imagine where he's going to keep getting his motivation from.
