I've seen the Nd2 idea in other lines, but I'm not sure how well it mixes in with the g4 lines. I just checked chess.com's online database, which is not totally complete, but mixing Nd2 and g4 is not a popular idea. The position after 4...e6 has been reached 541 times, and 5. g4 has only been played 10 times. The most popular move is overwhelmingly 5. Nb3, which has been played 495 times out of the total. Looks like the g4 ideas are best played after Nc3.

Yeah you're right, mistake is probably too strong of a word. But I don't think it's necessarily the most accurate way to play the position. Part of it could be Moro trying to mix things up in a blitz game.
