I PM'ed hoyasaxa but haven't heard back yet. He forfeited last round and hasn't signed in to 2+2 in 2 weeks. I hope all is well.

I also don't want my only win to be a non-game

I actually prepped the Leningrad as I struggled really bad in an earlier tourney. Came out with a nice position (19.Rc2 instead of Na5 was played in an earlier game Cramling-Berg with a pleasant advantage according to Avrukh), but couldnt quite finish Black off. Probably b7 was premature. After time trouble and mutual blundering Hack won, congrats

Thx, yeah you're opening prep was v good, was unsure of the best way to counter. I had a look through the game with an engine but still unsure where you went wrong, I thought b7 looked wrong, but apparently its good. It's one of those annoying positions where it says b7 is +1 but after 5 of its suggested moves it says = , too lazy to do deep positional search.

Even after 100/1000s of blitz games both of us still blunder pieces in a 5 sec increment game. Expert Chess .

Agreed that this is quite unlike him to be absent for so long and to no-show for as many rounds as he has. I sincerely hope that he's just been busy with the holidays, and that nothing is wrong.

It does look like he was signed onto FICS as recently as yesterday, so you could perhaps try to idle there with a +notify set and see if you can catch him online, since he doesn't seem to be keeping up a presence on 2+2 as of late. Good luck getting in touch with him and getting a game played!

We are still struggling to start our game (terrible time difference, even worse, than with US players...), but hope to have it this weekend

When will be the next tournament or is it possible to participate in this one? I did register on fics as ShahradIR.

Cadaz 0 - 1 Palinca

Tried avoiding theory and dropped a pawn early, got king stuck in the center.. just a general mess!

The next tourney will start in January. Look for a registration thread to pop up within the next week. You are absolutely welcome to join that one

Ugh that too. My brain was not working at all that day, almost managed to win the game purely through preparing well

came out of the opening with a nice position but then i wanted too much, blundered the exchange and he played the critical stages of the game very well.

Very nice postion after 14.Bg2 but somehow it seems you didn't want anything. You practically don't do any active moves till you blunder the exchange. 14-c4 with the idea of c3 and/or b4 (xa3) seems to give white lots of problems (xa3). At least it seems like this at the first glance.

Tomukas - HipHopBandit 1-0. Again, just too much blunders for both of sides, like with ratings 1000... :/
