Adjudicated results of unplayed matches:
loveinvain 0.5 - 0.5 2theleft
RolldUp Trips 0.5 - 0.5 Sholar
Person 0 - 1 Cadaz

This is Person's second consecutive forfeit, so for all intents and purposes I am removing him from the tournament. However that would give us an uneven number of players, and result in a full point bye for someone. Therefore the person who would otherwise receive the bye will be listed here as being paired with Person. This round that is hoyasaxa. Hoya, you have a choice. You may choose to make no effort to contact Person, in which case you will receive the full point even if he shows up and contacts you. OR you may choose to attempt to play the match, in which case you will receive whatever score you earn OTB if you manage to contact him and play. If any piece of that is unclear, feel free to ask me for clarification.

Round 4 Pairings:

Good luck everyone!

It is five rounds, since that's what I originally said it would be for a field this size. The bad news if you want to play more is that I'm not going to change things now and add another round. The good news is that when this tourney ends I will organize the 2+2 Chess Open VI

I don't know yet if I'll do a swiss or knockout format, but due to the volume of requests for longer games, the time controls will probably be something like G/15 (single games, not 4 game matches).

2.5-1.5 against 2theleft.
Bit of an up & down game, with mistakes being costly for both players.

Sholar 2-2 DONCASTI

BJJ: prob.game 4 is not in the database; its was adjourned (because of disconnection problems) in a lost position, so i decided to resign anyway, but it was played (for rating issues).

It was a good match. White won all four games (although I can't really blame my opening choices on dropping rooks on move 32, as much as I would like to).

I also want to thank Don for his understanding -- my internet was the one which went down toward the end of the fourth game. I was heartened to see an absence of angry posts/messages when I was able to get back online (days later).

(By the way, I believe that one can resign adjourned games on FICS using the "resign opponent_name" command.)

jewbinson (celeryforty) - ganstaman: 3 - 1

I'll post the games with some thoughts in a while. Overall thoughts: Iron Maiden is better than Melanie Fiona for handling high-pressure situations.

Haha, I figured that would be the response. Here's an acoustic version, even though I had the radio version on loop: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XkrTcEMc-Dc

Also, I said I would list to Iron Maiden only if I lost games 2 and 3, but since I won game 3, I still haven't heard any of their music (at least not that I know of).

They're awesome, they're new album is simply amazing and very deep

Here's a classic also: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cOVzXYEU3Bk&ob=av3e

I don't really like R&B unless I'm in the mood to really chill, and even then I listen to IM anyway. But the singer is really talented and it's quite relaxing, will give it a go
