Rbelous found himself in time trouble in some of the games & this helped sway the results in my favour.
Thanks also for the suggestions to use Babaschess. Looks like a pretty decent interface!

Those are some decent games!

I think Rf8 was the big blunder of the 1st game.

2nd game looks really fun, I'm sure white had a winning move somewhere, but I can't see it.

3rd game unlucky to white

4th game I think white has a decent advnatage, maybe with Kc2 (with g4 and blast the queenside), but that will require some calculation, so fair enough for a draw

I was really afraid of 23. Rxd7 there, but after Nf6 it became much easier to defend.

Yeah after Rxd7 I thought maybe he'd have Rd2 with g2 stuff on, but I think Rg1 stops all that.

I've checked with fritz and amazingly enough, after Rxd7 Rxd7 Nf6+ Kf8 (Kh8 loses obv) Nxh7+! Kg7 Nf6 Red8!, black is equal, and in some lines, comes out stronger into the endgame with ideas of soon playing b5! and Kg8! and magical stuff that makes little sense to me. For example, we now have

Nxd7 Rxd7 b5! Rd6?! Kg8! with a drawish endgame in all lines
Crazy stuff from the computer

Is there a need to rush the Nf6 idea? What does black do if you simply play Qg5, with the threat of Rxd7 & Nf6 with the queen in a superior position?

I suspect the 'crazy stuff' from the computer has a lot to do with the somewhat shaky position of the white king with the bishops on b7 & c5 creating threats (particularly if the rook/s get active on the d-file).

As you said in your PM, blitz is not your thing, I suspect you are much better in slow chess.

Good example is our first game where I gave a pawn for nothing in 10 moves or so and still won somehow.

GG and GL.

Actually it comes from before (13. ... f5?!). Should've taken the pawn on f4 first. After that the defense became very difficult.

2nd game looks really fun, I'm sure white had a winning move somewhere, but I can't see it.

I thought that too, but i didnt, except from Rxd7 which gave a very nice advantage.
But Black was winning with 27. QxB!! instead of Qd8.

yeah, of course white is better but
1.i was running out of time
2.i was happy to draw the match, considering the game before
3.i was very tired
4.position was not THAT better and im not a great ending player, so for all that reasons: very easy instant draw offer.

Be7. Only move to improve would be Qg3 and black has now f5. But its an interesting idea too, not easy for black.

27...Qxe5 is nice. I think it's because

28. Rxe5 Bxg2+ 29. Qxg2 Rd1+! with mate on g1.

My calculation skills aren't amazing, but amirite here?

And in the Rxd7 lines, I remember Qf8 or Qe7 stuff popping up as forms of defence to any attempts of hack-attacks. Obviously Be7 and Bf8 are also resources.

A key thing here is that in most lines there isn't much time for white to build up an attack simply due to the power of Rd2.

Red8 is the most crucial move in the line I gave earlier, as all other moves give white a decent advantage

It's been a while since I've played blitz, and it showed. I went down in the first two games without much resistance, won the third game, and had good chances in the fourth until I made some...odd choices.

If anyone knows how to display games better let me know. Was fun, Person was by far a better player but I was playing the clock a lot as it was probably my biggest edge. I made bajillions of errors

Gullanian 1 : 0 Person

Interesting ending, I nearly had him in mate from moving my pawn up to check, ran the clock down in the end

It's scored 1/2-1/2 if you both PM me to say that you made an effort but couldn't make it work. It would be scored as a 1-0 forfeit if only one person PMs me, or if one person is clearly at fault for the games not being played. If noone PMs me to explain the situation, it will be scored 0-0 as a dual forfeit.
