Generally I think it was some "technically unsound" play from both of us although I had fun.
Game 1 was weird from the off and should have been over quicker than it was. I hung a piece pretty early on (could have lost before I did anyway) and generally I didn't play with any real plan or structure just random reactive moves. FICS went crazy at one point as well and told me he had -20s on his clock then after he moved it went to 50s which was weird. Sooner i forget that game the better.
Game 2 I got my move order wrong at the end and completely missed that I couldn't play QA5 which was careless (still at least I had a plan this time albeit one that messed up). Qa5 first is probably better but with all the pressure on my own king it'd have been messy. Wins the rook though to ease some pressure (I think?). Other than that, I pretty much handed the center to him on a plate which put me in a bad position before we'd even made 10 moves so yet another back to the wall job. 13.ne5 for black would have been even worse for me than his actual move I think (threat of 14.bb5 needs to be dealt with then afterwards knight can move to outpost on d3 and I just cant defend in time after that).
Game 3 ended up blundering but generally I just gave him too much counterplay I think.
Game 4 nice to get a few tactics in and thought I'd experiement with the tromp which I've not played since I stopped playing years ago.
Anyway, I haven't looked through the games properly yet but those are initial thoughts and anybody that bothered to watch the games will realise I still have a lot of work to do and I think all games were out of book in the first few moves (which isn't necessarily a bad thing at our standard). Tbh, any comments are welcome as long as they are constructive maybe in pm or somewhere else so we dont clutter the tourney thread.
It'd be interesting to have some slower or correspondance games with you at some point ganstaman. Only time I play blitz is in these 2p2 tourneys
