XG2 Error and Best Move Makes No Sense

Can anyone explain this?

I played 10/7* 7/6 which XG flagged as an error with 10/7* 2/1 as a better move. With my move my opponent must roll a 1 and with XG's he can escape and win the game with either a 5 or a 2?

I probably would have done the same. But I understand the reason for XG's move: The white checker on 7 is only afraid of the roll 5-2. (When Black hits with entering you are dead anyway.) So the downside of the white checker on 7 is tiny. But it has an upside too: It helps covering the blot in the next move so that Black gets only 1 chance.

Don't forget that 5 is a good number either way for your opponent.

I see now that the extra chance to cover the blot if he misses makes it a better move.
