This is a text I would like to have in my library but is proving difficult to track down. If anyone has a copy that they are willing to part with (to an avid student of the game) I would very much be interested in purchasing it.

Thanks,
Brett

As a 32 years old guy from the middle class,i feel frustrated. I cannot afford paying 150++ € for one book too often. Maybe once, but not for 4 different. Sometimes the price is superior at 150.

I am really passionnated about the game, and i am not too bad.
Many old books that i would love to read its (all Robertie, also woolsey "new ideas", Mary Hickley, and others) are really expensive, when they can be found.
If someone has a magical solution, i would thank him.

I got a lot of my *old* books by ABE or ebay, but at that time there were not thousands of new things so you could find the stuff you like without looking at the same booring item 20 times.
Today it's more difficult, but It tooks me about 20 years until I had all issues of Kent Gouldings "BG with the champions".

Different than at that time there are a lot of great books published in the last years (and some are really a bargain: e.g. Vogls Super Chamoin Quiz) and be patient for the old ones.
Carol Joy Cole had some older books in earlier times.

If you are not a collector there are only a few books that I would regards as must have.
Magriel, Woolseys "new Ideas", Roberties "Modern Backgammon" but the longer I look in my shelf the more books I would like to add

It is getting increasingly more expensive to keep up to date. If you can't buy it all, chose wisely. For instance, the new Tardieu is probably going to help your game more that Woolsey.

And if it has to be Woolsey, just be patient. The bg community is aging and the first craze was in the 1970s. You can do the math yourself: We'll see a lot of interesting offers of classic bg books in the next decade or so. For instance, the series bgblitz had been collecting for 20 years was on offer on Ebay last month - and nearly complete.

Just be patient and your "Woolsey" will come around. I got mine on Ebay.de last year. I just happened to be the first one to notice (but it was not a bargain ...).
