To me, the pinnacle of the game we love is The World Series of Backgammon. Monte Carlo may have the World Championship, but the WSOB is where the action and professionalism is. And thanks to Andy Bell and his colleagues, the WSOB gets television coverage as well as some videos on youtube. I think the WSOB brings the game closer to the players, Monte Carlo seems to come and then it's gone, and I wonder, did anyone really notice? Did this year's World Championship help to raise the profile of backgammon? Was there much coverage in the press? Any blogs? Any video interviews?
