Why is this a double? Why is this a double?

I didn't even think about doubling here, but apparently it is a double. On account of what does White have a double here? I guess if I make the point on him he'd be ****ed, but it's only a few numbers, intuitively doesn't seem like it should be enough.

It's typically not a double, but you seem to be playing a game where the maximum number of points someone can win is 2. (It says "Limit 2".) That would mean you should double if there's any potential market losing sequences. Similar to playing a 2 point match.

Put another way -- if this isn't a double, then that means it's bad for you for the cube to be on 2. So if it's bad for you for the cube to be on 2, then your opponent should have doubled.

Makes sense, I didn't realize there was a limit. Normally I look to double where I have a decent advantage plus some market losers, here I obviously have a few market losing sequences, but it doesn't seem like I am far enough ahead to double.

Yeah, that's the right way to look at it. I'm assuming this is what's going on just because of the "Limit 2" and what the equities are.

Here's the analysis for a normal money game:

One other funny thing about your picture is that Galaxy claims the analysis is 3-ply in the upper right hand corner. Comparing the cubeless numbers to what the Extreme Gammon program says, the numbers match the 2-ply analysis, not 3-ply, so I think that's a bug in the Galaxy app.

The other point about a 2 limit is that it means giving your opponent control of the cube has no cost as there no longer is a cube.
