I thought 24-21, 13-9 or 13-10, 13-9 (e.g. gammon-go) were both shown to have a tiny edge in rollouts.
Am I out of date?

PS: OK I see I may have had it in world class or expert not grandmaster...

The three plays are toss-ups in a money game or at the start of a match. 13/9 13/10 leads to slightly more complex games, so if you think you're the better player you should favor that. If you think you're the weaker player, split.

24/20 13/10 does have a practical advantage -- most players will misplay a 5-3 in response.

Thanks. I would still make my 3 point. Is hitting 13-5 superior?
