So sometimes people tilt and decide to double right away in order to chase losses. If I get a good roll off the bat like 31 61 or 42 etc and then they double i'm pretty sure i should beaver, but what if i roll something like 62 or 43 and they double? Just take or beaver? It seems like just a take to me but I'm not sure.

Beaver after winning any opening roll. Owning the cube makes you a big favorite.

Here's another way of looking at the problem. Before either of you rolls to start the game, your tilting opponent offers to let you own the cube at either 2 or 4. Which do you choose? Answer is 4, because owning the cube is a big edge. The situation you describe is even better for you than that.

Ok Bill can't resist asking... would you still beaver after winning the opening roll with 21 (and playing 13/12 6/5)?

I assume you meant 21: 13/11 6/5

Actually, it's recently been proven using math that 13/12 is 0.468% superior to 13/11.

I'd post the proof here, but it's tedious and beyond the scope of this thread.
