Here's one of those uncomfortable rolls to deal with in match play; this one Bill played this last weekend at the 2018 Cherry Blossom championship.

What's your play?

Doug Roberts (White) - Pips 89 (-21). Match Score 6/9

Black - Pips 110 (+21). Match Score 2/9
Bill Robertie (Black) to Play 6-5

This is a good, tough problem. Four categorically different options. Don't think I even saw 18/7.

18/7 was the obvious play for me. On the other hand, I didn´t see/consider 7/2, 7/1.

I thought 7/2, 7/1 was only move; wouldn't have guessed that 18/7 was that close.

I was watching this match live - Bill gave this one considerable thought and moved 18/7; unfortunately (for him) his opponent rolled a 1 his next roll and hit. I probably would have moved 18/13 18/12. I didn't even consider 7/2 7/1.
