I played the aggressive but apparently unwise move of 8/7 5/1*. It worked out for me as I backgammoned my opponent, but my pride was quickly dashed when I saw my game's ER was destroyed by that move.
As far as doubling - the game should have never made it to this roll - I should have doubled prior to rolling, and my opponent should have dropped.
