Does anyone know what is going on with play65?

I can't access the game via browser and the download version. Love the game, been playing since 2004.

They ceased operation a few weeks ago.

I joined GridGammon a few weeks ago. It runs the old GamesGrid backgammon software, which was always state of the art, and has lots of players on all the time. I'd recommend that.

1966Myles you can take a look in a chronological way about what happened to Play65 here: http://www.onlinebackgammonmoney.com...eal-money-play

About alternatives it depends on what you are looking for. If it is games without real money at stake then GridGammon is your choice. If you are looking for real money play as what Play65 offered you can find alternatives in the link with the Play65 article.

You should avoid playing backgammon for money online. The rakes are unbeatable and the sites are infested with bots and strong players using bots. You should use your online time playing for free and practicing for your live play.

From what I understand, Play65 lost its license (they were not in US). I was devastated, loved and trusted their money games. Found another site last week gamecolony.com. They offer money games, but I haven't tried them yet. Anyone knows anything about them? I found them quite by chance -- they have 'backgammon gc' app for androids that I found in my google play. Like the app, like the website, but would like to know more about them before commit any $$ to them. Anybody opine?

Hell No! This is one of the sites that I will not recommend to play for money. Software is terrible.

If you are into playing backgammon on your mobile phone (iOS or Android) there may be something upcoming from GameAccount Network.

You should avoid playing backgammon for money online. The rakes are unbeatable and the sites are infested with bots and strong players using bots. You should use your online time playing for free and practicing for your live play. Money is hard to come by in life, and you should avoid setting fire to it when possible.

Hi,

I don't play for money, but for free gamecolony is a good site for playing. There are plenty of opponents of all skills and you can e-mail your games for later analysis,

greetings k.

I thought ignoring of this topic would be the best policy in cases like this, but it seems there are a couple of stakeholders on this forum. Very embarrassing!!!
