Hello!
I have a Mac and I don't use Windons. Extreme Backgammon is not compatible with Mac, right?
What other tool could I use to improve my game? GNU? Snowie? Do you know if GNU works for Mac?
Thanks!

GNU bg works for MAC and is a very good tool. It has approximately the same strength as Snowie 4, but it is not as strong as XG. In practice this means that the feedback you get from the program is a little less accurate.
The user interface of gnubg has some rough edges, but you should be able to manage unless you are computer illiterate.
If you want to use XG on MAC, you need to run it under windows on parallels, vmare or similar.

Try to get XG to work - it is faster and better. The other way to improve is to go to the USBGF page on facebook and look at the videos section (watch 1 a day). Also joining the USBGF is really good as they are starting to post the videos there now.

If you play money games only then forget I spoke, but the most useful tool for me, by far, is an article on the net called '5 point match' by Kit Woolsey. For the past 6 weeks I've had it open as I play XG, and alt-tab to it continually. My cube PR has improved by 3.2 and my checkers by 1.8, going from mostly green to mostly black, because I'm making more plays appropriate to the situation. I wish I could buy that man a beer.
