Hello.

I was wondering what was the best place to play backgammon on the internet?

Please be objective, and don't just answer your own personal favorite backgammon website/server.

Maybe someone can provide a list of the top 5 backgammon websites/servers by number of active users or by number of games played every day.

The concensus on this forum seems to be that Gridgammon is #1. Many others like Safe HarborGames, which seems to be the #2 site.

I've tried gridgammon, and didn't particularly like the interface. To be fair, I played only once though, and didn't look into changing settings, so that's a very shallow review indeed. Clearly if everyone here is there, I am missing something! I currently play on backgammon NJ on mobile, and it works well. I have to wait a bit for a game at times, but generally it is is pretty quick and easy.

Just reread your post, and my answer is in no way objective, but that's all I've got at the moment.

As I understand, Gridgammon is by invitation only, and so far nobody has invited me.

I play on Safe Harbor, which seems fairly good.

Does Gridgammon have a mobile app? That would be a winner for me.

Pretty sure GridGammon does not have a mobile app.

You could try emailing support@gridgammon.com and asking for an account. At one point I heard that worked.

I've played extensively on FIBS and GridGammon. FIBS is fine, but I have not played on it for several years, as I definitely prefer GridGammon for the speed, the interface, and the quality of the competition. It can be a little buggy, but it's worth it.
