Too good to double? Too good to double?

Both positions are match to 7, score 0-0. Please ignore the shown dice-- assume black is on roll.

In both cases GNU is giving a very high gammoning percentage, but is choosing Double-Pass as the best choice. Seems with such a high gammoning percentage black should play for an undoubled gammon. Thoughts?

(This time, I even have the Jacoby rule turned off in GNU!)

in the first case i think having the blot on the 1 point makes it not too good to double. you cover it like 78% of the time i think, but even when you cover it white can still anchor on the 3 point. plus ur inner board isnt that strong and u can't cover the 1 point and make the 5 point or 3 point all in 1 turn.

in the 2nd one, if u make the 5 point, then the blot on the 3 is still exposed and u won't be able to cover it for a while and in the meantime white could anchor on the 3. or if you cover the blot on the 3 point, white has a decent chance to anchor on the 5.

Even if your gammon chances are high, if your losing chances are high enough as well, the position won't be too good to double. Here with a blot in your inner board, 4 men back, and your opponent preparing to anchor as well as having a 3 point board, I can you losing quite a few games, so it makes sense that this position would be double / pass.
