Simon Woodhead is the creator of GABBI, a web site that allows you to create a board image for use in forums like this one.

You can paste an ID string from GNU Backgammon or eXtreme Gammon, and GABBI will create a board image which is then stored on the GABBI server. The link data GABBI provides can then be easily pasted into a message here. You can also create a board from scratch or generate ASCII text output.

After I work with GABBI for awhile, I will post an update describing all this to the sticky atop the message list.

Thank you, Simon, for authoring GABBI!

Code:
GnuBG ID: CwAAMAIAAAAAAA:URngAAAAIAAA
XGID=-B--A------------------ab-:1:1:1:D:4:0:0:7:8
Putting the id in a code block seems to get rid of the smileys...

There's also a "Disable smilies in text" below "Additional Options" on the New Thread or Reply to Thread screens.

Or the noparse tag :)

Yes, I saw that. I do need, however, something that will work across as many BBS's as possible, preferably without requiring the user to change their settings. The Code tags seem to be universally accepted so I'll stick with those for now.

Thanks for looking at gabbi - suggestions for improvements are always welcome.
