Hi. First off, I am not a stranger to 2+2, but it's been a long time since I have posted on 2 + 2. I'd like to say that a silver lining out of the quarantine situation, is not only the rise of online poker, but the rise of online backgammon.
Many clubs, at least the forward thinking ones, are starting to take action online. Mine included. But I will promote 2 clubs that I have been participating in since the quarantine began, and then talk about the NWLVBC 5/7 single elimination tournament.
The Prime Time Chicago club is hosting tournaments every Sunday open to anyone in the US. $30 entree and $40 side pool. Info at link below.

In addition, the Chicago Open Backgammon Club is hosting a triple swiss format on Tuesdays and Wednesdays, $50 entree with $50 prize pool. Great opportunity to play some backgammon giants. I Played with Ray Forgelund, Victor Ashkenazi, "michy", to name a few in this weeks tournament. Link below:

There is more clubs and tournaments out there, but I haven't played in them so I can't vouch for them.
I have started a club back in Dec. 2019, apart from the ole Vegas bg club, called the Northwest Las Vegas Backgammon Club or NWLVBC, which meets in the Northwest part of Las Vegas. I have played with the idea of an online play section of the club, but since the coronavirus happened, I think the clubs that don't have at least some meet up online will be...stagnant.
Our online tournament will start May 9th at 2:00 p.m. PST with a simpler and less time consuming format than the former mentioned. And also we won't require an audio connection like the former mentioned who use Discord.
We focus on challonge bracket management (so do the former), backgammon galaxy (so do the former) and venmo processing (so do the former), but no discord.
Anyway, it's a format 5pt matches/7pt final single elimination tournament. Entree fee is a flat $20 and side pool $20. 90% returns. You may find it very reasonable and competitive with everyone else. But I take great care not to take away from other tournaments and clubs, as I hope others do the same. Beauty of online is one could theoretically play multiple tournaments at the same time. Sort of like, poker multi-tabling? Go to the challonge tournament site and can link to our club from there:

Anyway, if anyone has comments, questions, something to add, I'll be checking this thread periodically.
Happy Rolling people,
Daniel aka Superdan
