Ok,
So the first tourney didn't go to well (due to a lack of engagement). BUT there was a lot of interest in it and I do think that a lot of the people who regularly post on this forum are interested in measuring one against the other. So I propose a second forum tournament. I propose we do this tourney in november, 1st day of play is 1-11-'09, last day is 30-11-'09. I would set a minimum of 16 players and a max of 32 players. Since I propose this I am willing to engage myself to be tournament director (TD). Given the bad experiences we have encountered in the (recent) past, I propose that if one of the two players has not responded AND found time to play, that he be disqualified. I also suggest that if a match is not played within a week, that a random winner should be picked (I don't know of any ways can be decided online, but if you do, do not hesitate to respond). Some situations may occur that are rather obsure, but there I propose that the TD (i.e. me) decides what the right course of action is. If I would be even close to a world class player I would not participate, but since I (imho) am a novice in backgammon I would like to participate. Which leaves 31 (or 15) spots.
May the dice be with you.
