I have played Strat-o-matic baseball for over 50 years throwing dice millions of times. In the SOM world of baseball rounded dice are laughable and a pariah to fairness.

HOWEVER - I see World Championships being played with rounded dice. WTF!!

are there "fair" rounded dice I have missed out on? Or are games played with dice that are not even close to accurateness.

When you throw dice on a long surface like a craps table, the dice have a long way to travel so perfectly square dice are fine.

When you throw dice on a backgammon board, they can't travel far so square dice won't roll much. Rounding the corners gets more rolling done. Rounded-corner backgammon dice have been in use since the 1970s and are machined to a fine tolerance.

Are "Rounded-corner backgammon dice" different then regular rounded dice? and if so where can I find them. Or were you just talking about all GOOD rounded dice.

PLUS - I agree - I have actual craps dice and it would be laughable to use them LOL

PLUS - I understand that if both sides use the same dice it's pretty fair. In SOM we're looking for accuracy.

Can't say -- don't know exactly what you mean by 'regular' rounded dice.

The "accuracy" is determined by the precision of the dice, not whether it is rounded or sharp. If not please tell me which number has a higher/lower probability when it is a round dice.

When the value of the numbers are different (which is normally not the case in BG) it might be helpful to manipulate the dice for a higher percentage of 1 or 6 and it is easier to find out such a manipulation when the corners are sharp.

Are there "precision" rounded dice? That is the basic question
